Wang Xujin, BTBU professor, is director of the Department of Insurance of the BTBU School of Economics and Insurance Research Centre, as well as a member of the Finance Education in Colleges and Universities Branch of the MOE Education Steering Committee; executive member of the council of the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA); member of the council of the Insurance Institute of China;
executive member of the council of the Beijing Insurance Institute; member of the council of the China Social Insurance Association; executive member of the council of Beijing International Finance Association; researcher at China Centre for Insurance and Social Security Research; member of the expert committee of the Post-Doctoral Research Centre of China Pacific Insurance Company Ltd; member of Beijing Arbitration Committee; and editorial board member of Insurance Studies. In 1994, he, along with his colleagues, set up BTBU’s insurance programme and its actuarial science specialization. Since 1993, he traveled to Italy, Singapore, India, Thailand, the UK, Hong Kong and Taiwan as an academic visitor. He attended the annual meeting of APRIA for nine years starting in 1997 and delivered academic speeches. He has published over 100 papers, of which 14 have been published overseas. He has also published more than 20 monographs, of which his masterpiece is Insurance. His main research topic is insurance.
