Zou Jun, a member of the Communist Party of China, was born in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, in August 1965. He graduated from the Department of Education of Southwest University (the former Southwest China Normal University) in 1987, and was awarded a master’s degree in education by Beijing Normal University in 1998. He was a visiting scholar in the School of Public Administration, East China Normal University from 2008-2009. He was engaged in a programme to study efficient learning environments (ELE) in WES, Bruges, Belgium from April to June in 2003. He now oversees course curriculum and instruction in the field of modern education thought and school management, and works as an associate professor of education in the School of Education, The Open University of China. His research fields mainly include education and culture, self-education theory, and the construction of lifelong learning and new types of universities
