Wu Zhenghong is a tutor and associate professor with the Department of Education Management of the School of Education. In July 1987 she graduated from the Department of History, Beijing Normal University. From September 2000 to July 2002, she furthered her postgraduate study, majoring in education management in the School of Education, Beijing Normal University. She studied in the School of Education, the University of Nottingham as a visiting scholar from April to August in 2005, and her research interest is in tutor training and the design of online courses. At present, she is leading the following courses: History of Management Thought, A Brief History of Education in China, and Humanity and Society. The multimedia teaching material development for A Brief History of Education in China won the first prize at the 2001 Beijing Educational Teaching Achievements (Higher Education); the audio-visual teaching material the Long History of Chinese Education won the first prize at the Fourth National Excellent Educational Audio-Visual Products held by the General Administration of Press and Publication and the Ministry of Education in 2002; and the Long History of Chinese Education won the Third National Audio-Visual Products Award in November 2004. The paper she wrote On the Creation of Multimedia Teaching Material for A Brief History of Education in China was published in the core Chinese education magazine Distance Education in China in August 2004; the paper Appearance of a Learning Society and Its Basic Characteristics was published in Modern Education Science in February 2004; the paper Inspiration of the UK’s Educational System to Education in China was published in the core educational magazine Modern Education Science, Vol. 4, 2006. The article introduces UK’s tutor training, adult education, online courses, and others, and expressed her own views on the inspiration it has offered to China’s education system.
