Zhang Zhiyong is mainly engaged in teaching and research on the conservation and application of insect resources and safe technology for pollution-free agricultural products. He lectures on “The Biological Control of Insect Pests”, “Environmental Toxicology” and “Ornamental Plant Pest Control”.

He led a JSPS international cooperative project, five scientific and research projects at the provincial and ministerial level, and participated in two national key subjects.

He is editor-in-chief of “Local Standards for Provincial Pollution-free Production” (DB41/T152.1-5-2000).

He won second prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award at state and ministerial level.
