Hu Jianfang’s research interests are developmental fruit biology and cell biology, and he lectures on the senior physiology of fruit trees, fruit tree cultivation, viniculture and fruit tree thremmatology.   

He has edited a training textbook for grape gardeners and teaching materials on high-yield cultivation techniques for table grapes.

He has led a project on innovation in postgraduate education for the Ministry of Education, involving doctoral students visiting Xinjiang and working with key ethnic science and technology workers.
