Mr. Chen is an associate professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, a member of the China Computer Federation Open System Professional Committee, and a postgraduate student supervisor. His main research areas include computer software and computer applications. He was named an “Outstanding teacher of Beijing” in September 1997.

He lectures on four courses for undergraduates: The Fundamentals of Compiling, The Fundamentals of Computers, C language programming, and Data Structures and Algorithms. He presides over the internship in Software Fundamentals, Methods and Practices of Programme Development.

He has published more than ten textbooks and reference books, including the followings:

  1. In March 2009, he compiled The Fundamentals of Compiling, Tsinghua University Press, a Nationally Planned Textbook for the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" for regular higher education;
  2. In June 2004, he compiled C language programming Course (2nd edition), Beijing Institute of Technology Press;
  3. In June 2004, he compiled C language programming Course Exercises and Practice Guidelines (2nd edition), Beijing Institute of Technology Press, a Nationally Planned Textbook for the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" for regular higher education.

Academic Research: He has undertaken a number of projects at the provincial and municipal level. The research subjects include:

  1. 2007: Presided over the Ministry of Education Microsoft course construction project: Operating System Course Design;
  2. 2008: Presided over the Ministry of Education Microsoft course construction project: Practical Software Engineering Practices;
