Li Jianyong, professor, is a doctoral supervisor and chief lecturer at Beijing Jiaotong University. He is now the dean of the School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering.

Professor Li has long been engaged in the teaching and research of advanced manufacturing, mechatronics and intelligent engineering.

He won the third prize for Progress in Science and Technology from the Ministry of Railways in 1994, and was named a Beijing Outstanding Young Teacher in 1996. He has led or participated in six projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China and National “863 Projects”, five scientific research projects at province and ministerial-level, and over 10 cross-research projects.

He has published over 50 academic papers and obtained two state-authorized patents.

Since 2009, he has been the chief editor of the textbook for the Introduction to Mechatronics System Design course as part of the machine design and automation programme at the OUC, having provided valuable advice and contributions for the construction of distance education teaching resources for the OUC electromechanical undergraduate program.
