Professor Cui Lin is Dean of the OUC School of Engineering. He graduated from the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University in 1985, finished his master's degree at the School of Computer Science and Technology at Beijing Institute of Technology in 1994, and in 2005 graduated with a doctorate from Beijing Institute of Technology.
Since 1991, he has been engaged in research on several areas such as expert systems, data mining, web-based personalization, and the history of computer development. He has published more than 20 academic papers, and his major published works include ACM Turing Award — An Epitomized History of Computing in the Twentieth-Century (published by the Higher Education Press), The IEEE Computer Society Computer Pioneer Award — A History of Inventions in Computer Science and Technology (published by the Higher Education Press), Guide to Computer Science and Technology (published by the CCRTVU (now the OUC) Press), Basics of Programming (published by the CCRTVU Press) and others.
He previously served as vice dean of the Computer Department of Henan University of Science and Technology, graduate supervisor in computer applications at Henan University of Science and Technology, graduate dissertation supervisor of the College of Computing & Communication Engineering at Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and senior member of China Computer Federation. He serves now as dean of the OUC School of Engineering.
