The programme is oriented towards front-line production in the manufacturing industry, training technical skilled professionals who have basic mechatronics technology knowledge and professional skills, who are familiar with safety standards and specifications, who have the ability to operate, assemble, adjust, maintain, examine, repair, and transform mechanical and electrical equipment, who are familiar with quality management and related national standards, who have mastered the basic knowledge required ,for product quality inspection and after sales service, and who have grasped primary design abilities and sustainable development abilities for general mechatronic equipment.
I. Training Objectives and Standards
Two-year junior college programme for part-time students to complete within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.

Knowledge and competency requirements:
(1) Ability to select and use tools, clamps, gauges, and assistive devices correctly;
(2) Preliminary ability to survey, map, and design mechanical parts;
(3) Ability to read mechanical and electrical engineering drawings;
(4) Ability to install, adjust, maintain, and repair the mechanical structures and electrical systems of common mechatronic equipment;
(5) Ability to modify control programs and write programs for common industrial control equipment;
(6) Ability to programme and operate common machine tools and CNC machine tools;
(7) Professional document editing abilities.
II.Core Courses
Mechanical Drawing, Mechanical Manufacturing Foundations, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Mechanical Design Foundations, Programmable Controller Applications, Application and Training of Programmable Controllers, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission, Mechatronics Systems.
III. Graduation
The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 78. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised junior college graduation certificate of higher education.
