The programme aims to foster advanced technical professionals who have a strong sense of patriotism and have strong social morals and professional ethics. Students should possess an innovative spirit and practical abilities, master professional knowledge of computer and network applications, and possess basic computer operation and network application abilities. The graduates should be able to meet the needs of front-line jobs in information production, technology, services, and management, and engage in computer web design, network management, and other related tasks.

I. Training Objectives and Standards

Two-year junior college programme for part-time students to complete within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.

The graduates should be able to meet the needs of front-line jobs in information production, technology, services, and management, and engage in computer web design, network management, and other related tasks.

Graduates of this major should possess the theoretical knowledge and strong practical abilities needed by the employers. They should possess the following basic qualities and skills:

Political, ideological, legal, and moral qualities; Scientific and cultural qualities; Spoken and written expression abilities and public relations abilities; A positive and enterprising spirit; Spirit of unity and cooperation; Dedication, innovation, and an entrepreneurial consciousness.

2. Technical Application Skills

Ability to use computers; Ability to skilfully use new office software; Computer assembly and maintenance; Strong web design and network management abilities and other related technical capabilities; Computer data security and defence abilities; Ability to adapt to changes, to engage in work in similar majors, or to start their own business.

II．Core Courses

The programme offers two directions: Web Page Design and Network Management.

Web Page Design: Computer Application Foundations, Database Foundations and Applications, Photoshop Image Processing, Dreamweaver Web Page Design, Flash Animation Production, WEB Development Foundation, JavaScript Programming, Website Interface (UI) Design.

Network Management: Computer Application Foundations, Microcomputer Systems and Maintenance, Practical Network Technology Foundations, Computer Networking Technology, Windows Network Operation System Management, Network Application Service Management, Network System Management and Maintenance, Database Operation and Maintenance.

III. Graduation

The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 78. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised junior college graduation certificate of higher education.
