I. Training Objectives and Standards
The programme aims to foster the all-round ethical, physical and intellectual development of students in line with the needs of the hydraulic and hydropower industry. Graduates will have a wide knowledge, a strong ability and a solid training foundation in this field. Graduates should be able to complete planning, design, construction and management jobs.
Students should have a strong sense of patriotism and a desire to strive to serve the people. They should be law-abiding and have strong social morals and professional ethics.
Graduates should have a good command of the basic theories, knowledge and skills required in the industry; possess overall management ability in the design and construction of hydraulic and hydropower projects; be good at self-directed learning and be able to obtain up-to-date knowledge in the field of hydraulic and hydropower engineering; speak a foreign language to a certain level and have the ability to read foreign language materials for the course; and possess some basic computer skills.

Engineering Mathematics (undergraduate), Engineering Mechanics (for undergraduates), Rock-Soil Mechanics, Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering Structures, Hydraulic Reinforced Concrete Formations (for undergraduates), Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering Project Cost Management, Environmental Hydraulic Engineering, New Irrigation and Drainage Technology, Hydraulic Steel Structures, Introduction to Hydraulic Engineering Design.
III. Graduation
The minimum number of credits requiredto graduate from this major is 72. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised undergraduate graduation certificate of higher education.
