The programme aims to foster professionals with solid foundation in theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities related to management, economics and law regarding civil engineering technology and engineering management. Graduates should be application-oriented professionals in management, capable of using information technology to fit in career opportunities at the frontline of production, construction and management of the industry.
I. Training Objectives and Standards
Two-year undergraduate programme(start from junior college level) for part-time students to complete the programme within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.
The programme aims to foster professionals with solid foundation in theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities related to management, economics and law regarding civil engineering technology and engineering management. Graduates should be application-oriented professionals in management, capable of using information technology to fit in career opportunities at the frontline of production, construction and management of the industry. Upon completion of the programme, graduates should be able to possess knowledge and abilities as follows:
(1)Good in physical health and morality;
(2)Mastery of relevant knowledge in civil engineering technology;
(3)Mastery of relevant management theories and methods;
(4)Mastery of relevant economic theories;
(5)Mastery of relevant law and regulations;
(6)Possession of basic abilities to use the above mentioned knowledge to deal with engineering management;
(7)Possession of abilities to use computer skills to help solving issues in engineering management.
II.Core Courses
Engineering Economics, Engineering Estimation, Engineering Project Management, Engineering Contract Management, Engineering Financial Management, Construction Law and Regulations, Principles of Concrete Structure Design, Principles of Modern Management, Steel Structures, Construction Supervision etc.
III. Graduation
The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 72. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised undergraduate graduation certificate of higher education. Those qualified for degree requirements will be conferred with the bachelor degree of engineering.
