On 17th October 2016, the Postal School of the Open University of China (hereinafter referred to as "OUC Postal School") was formally established at Shijiazhuang Posts and Telecommunications Technical College.
The OUC Postal School is an industry and corporate college established through a collaboration between China Post Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "China Post") and the OUC, and is a secondary school of the OUC. The Postal School offers continuing degree education at the junior college and undergraduate levels for employees in the postal industries. The training programmes were developed jointly by the OUC and China Post, with majors closely related to the needs of postal enterprises, and the learning content tailored to job requirements and career standards. Postal enterprises are involved in the entire training process through independent recruitment and management, which effectively ensures the quality of talent training.
The Postal Group Corporation has entrusted Shijiazhuang Posts and Telecommunications Technical College with the overall operation and management of the OUC Postal School. They rely on provincial postal training centres to establish Postal School study centres that carry out recruitment, registration, teaching, education management, and study support services. Currently, the Postal School has set up 23 study centres in districts and cities across China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Xinjiang. The enrolment majors cover the fields of Business Enterprise Management (Postal Marketing orientation), Logistics Management (Postal orientation), E-commerce, Finance, Marketing, Logistics Management, and more.
While promoting adult continuing education, the Postal School actively explored the mode and mechanism of credit bank services for postal enterprises. As a result, it was approved to establish the "OUC Learning Outcome Certification Centre (Postal Service)", which carries out certification, accumulation, and transfer of degree and non-degree continuing education learning outcomes of postal employees. This has opened up the implementation path of credit bank services from theory to practice and provided strong talent support for postal enterprises to implement the strategy of "talent-powered post industry".
